Background: I established flow like a river yoga studio in 2003. My formal yoga studies began back in 1975 and by 1985 I was ready to complete the teacher training program. Since then I have taught Kripalu yoga part time as I've always been a full time teacher in academia.

Over the years, I deepened my yoga practice studying the Ayurveda, somatic movement, Integrative Yoga Therapy, Thai Yoga and yoga dance.

I was also deepening my studies of art and design. After receiving an MFA I worked in design and taught graphic design and multimedia at two local colleges.

I gradually made a conscious transition from a full time involvement with design and a partial with yoga to the converse, and eventually realized my goal of opening a Kripalu yoga studio.

flow like a river yoga was dedicated to the needs of special populations - seniors, those seeking yoga as a therapy, and parents with children. What made the studio especially unique was our offering children's classes for each stage of development, which were followed by classed for parents with child care. Our child care was a vibrant art studio.

In addition to yoga classes, I also offered thai massage. The studio grew to serve the Berkeley community well.
